Join in on the causes that led the Revolutionary war in America.
You'll have a royal audience with his most Britannic Majesty King George the Third - King of Great Britain & Ireland, Defender of the realm, and defender of the faith. You'll witness the ideas that ultimately led to American Independence. You will also take part as American representatives urging both restraint and Independence.
SESSION II - August 24th
As the war of In America for Independence continues, the Continental Congress struggles with ideas on complete separation from England, or those urging reconciliation You'll be there as founding father, John Hancock, discusses an official document to declare to the American people and the world of why America should be free and independent.
SESSION III - September 7th
Be there as General George Washington fights to keep his army together under the most punishing of circumstances. You will see how the Continental army suffered battle losses and desertion with only the leadership of Washington holding the army together which ultimately led the American Independence.
Each session will begin with a history lesson shared by our local historian, Ross Nelson. Mr. Nelson will take on the persona of three historic individuals who helped shape our great nation. He'll take us on a trip back in history (in character) to not only educate but entertain our youngsters as they learn.
In addition, the improvisation portion of the class will be facilitated by acting instructor Linda Waymire. Students will be able to go back in time and recreate history as it might have been through improvisation. This will certainly prove to be very interesting and guaranteed to be FUN and EDUCATIONAL.
Hence the name EDU-PROV! Educational Improvisation!
